Faculty of International and Chinese Education

The Faculty of International and Chinese Education offers an advanced English/Chinese-taught tertiary education in two specialized concentrations: Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), and Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (TCSL).
 
All programs are taught by experts with an integrated combination of extensive teaching and research experience in bilingual contexts, the program aims to prepare language professionals for a dynamic global career, with a solid foundation in applied linguistics and research-informed language teaching approaches.
 
The faculty has opened up many ways for students reach out globally, whether it is study abroad for a university degree, summer/winter vacation boot camps, exchange student program, or paid internship program. The school has established friendly cooperation with over 20 universities in many countries and regions, such as the United States, Canada, Britain, Australia and many other countries, giving students a wide diversity to chase their dream outside.

HSK 3 - Fast Track program

6 months Fast Track course designed for students to enhance their Chinese Language skills in order to meet the HSK 3 standard in 4 areas :
Speaking/Listening/Reading/

Business Chinese Diploma Program

3 years course majoring in Business Chinese, the course are designed for students to understand what is being discussed in meetings, negotiate in Chinese or conduct business in Chinese.

Chinese Language Program
 
 The Chinese Lanuage Program is designed for students that have zero Chinese background and wish to study Chinese as a freshman; courses are available each semester, with a maximum study period of 2 years

How to apply

 

1) Contact our staff for an interview in person or through email, and then fill out the Application Form of “Foreigners Applying for Study at GIEC”.

 

2) After confirmation by our college, you should send our staff the scanned forms of your passport page, degree certificate, non-criminal record (authenticated by Chinese Embassy in your country) and the Application Form of Foreign Student (all documents must have the original and copy version).

 

3) We will then post you a conditional offer letter and instructions to pay all tuition fees, students are required to pay all feess requested by the due date as per instructions.

 

4) Once all payment has been received, an approved form of Visa Application fo study in China (form JW202) will be processed and sent to students.

 

5) Bring your offer letter, Form JW 202, body check certificate and other relevant documents to the Chinese Embassy in your country for Study Visa (X type).

 

6 )Students should be ready to enter China, attend orientation at GIEC for the new semester and finish off the enrolment process.

ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES

GIEC has its own health center, post office, supermarket, ATM, as well as the restaurants and sport fields for basketball, volleyball, tennis and football inside campus.

You will be provided a room with twin beds, air-conditioner, desk, wardrobe, refrigerator, Internet socket, water machine,electric cooker (microwave oven) and bathroom where electric water heater and washing machine.

Notice: Students must pay the deposit of 500 RMB before taking a room. The deposit will be fully refunded if the room has no physical damage when checking out.

 

HEALTH INSURANCE

The Chinese Government requires all international students to buy insurance by themselves during their study period. The college has the right of refusing the student without buying insurance.

Insurance fee: 800 RMB/person/year (Below the age 45).
